Scott Alan Swallom, 42, of Vinton, Iowa, was tragically killed in a head-on crash Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010, at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; three children, Kyle, Christopher and Holly; son-in-law, Jon; his mother, Linda Fritz; stepfather, Marty; sister, Dana (Scott) Blauer; stepsister, Tammy (Tom) Wurster; two step brothers, J. Marty Fritz, Jr. and Mark (Wendy) Fritz; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Scott was born December 27, 1967, to Linda (King) and Ralph Swallom. On May 24, 1986, Scott was united in marriage to Laura Benfield. He enjoyed his job as a bail bondsman and bounty hunter.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Edward Swallom; grandparents, Myrle and Charles King and Virgel and Melsena Fritz and Alberta and Clyde Traw; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was a prankster and will be greatly missed.
Scott enjoyed family and friends, cards, playing games, fishing camping and most of all racing hobby stock and sport mods. He always said he felt the best on dirt tracks.
