Scott W. Messer, 33, of 5609 Decatur Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center after a ten-year battle with testicular cancer. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2005, at St. Paul?s United Methodist Church, 3rd Avenue at 14th Street S.E., Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Judy Eilders and Rev. Kathy Moore. The family will greet friends after the memorial service in St. Paul?s social hall. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Jeri; three daughters, Katharine, Lauren and Amanda, all at home; his father, Dwight (Kay) Messer of Wayland; his mother, Judith (Laverne) Hueholdt of Wayland; a brother Tim Messer and friend Christopher Otterbeck of Cedar Rapids; a sister Lori Messer and fiancé Sam Yancey of O?Fallon, Missouri; and his Rockwell Family at Coralville, Iowa.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, B. Max and Anna Bates and Ernest and Helen Messer.

Scott was born November 21, 1971, the son of Dwight E. and Judith Anne (Bates) Messer in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. On November 9, 1996, he married Jeri A. Pealer in Cedar Rapids. Scott worked as an Assembler at Rockwell Collins in Coralville.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Scott.
