Scott Alan Dixon, 44, of rural Marion, died at his home. Memorial Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Jack Kendall and Rev. Fred Darbonne. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Survivors include his mother, Erma Dixon of Bourbonnais, Illinois; his siblings, Sharon Gourley of Corwith, Iowa, Marjorie (Jerry) Schrock of Bourbonnais, Illinois, Louise Cook of Boulder, Colorado, John Dixon of Santa Maria, California, Steven (Alexa) Dixon of Lompoc, California, Kenneth (Etta) Dixon of Lakeport, California, Mary Jean VanderMast (Allen) of London, England, and Laura Dixon of Denver, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, John, and a brother, David.
Scott was born July 14, 1959, the son of John A. and Erma L. (Hindman) Dixon in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Springville High School and later attended Kirkwood Community College. He was employed by Horn Auto Supply in Marion. Scott had a passion for guns and competitive shooting.
