Sarah Ella Tribble (Prouty)

Sarah Ella Tribble, 92, a resident of Oak Village Apartments, Marion, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Linn Manor Care Center. Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion, by Chaplain Joseph Kane. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Miller of Marion; three granddaughters, Deb (Alan) Knuth of Bondurant, Lori Miller of Jacksonville, Florida, and Joelle (Craig) Logemann of Ankeny; five great-granddaughters, Sarah and Emily Knuth, Bria and Jayde Logemann, and Jamie Melson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one granddaughter, Cindy Melson; three sisters, two brothers, and one half brother.
Sarah was born March 1, 1917, the daughter of Benjamin and Annie (Flauding) Prouty, in Matthews, Missouri. She lived in Missouri until 1930, when the family moved to Rock Island, Illinois. Sarah married Paul H. C. Baruth on December 6, 1936, in Rock Island. He died December 11, 1958. She later married Forrest L. Tribble on June 10, 1966. He died October 19, 1984. Sarah then moved to Marion in the early 1990’s to be closer to her daughter.
