Sarah Lynn Stone, 36, of Wenatchee, Washington, formerly of Melbourne and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was killed by a drunk driver Thursday, September 1, 2005, in Washington. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at the First Assembly of God Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Rick Gail. A Memorial Service will also be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2005, at the Kittitas Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center, Ellensburg, Washington. Survivors include her mother, Fran Stone of Cedar Rapids; her father Larry (Sherry) Stone of Knoxville, Iowa; two sisters, Sherry of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Lu Crary of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Jesse Stone of Wenatchee, Washington; and her two dogs, Ava and Baby
Also surviving are her maternal grandmother, Frances Green of Cedar Rapids; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Boone of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a paternal grandfather, Jess W. Stone.
Sarah was born June 2, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from West Marshall High School in 1987. She served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Sarah then led her life by her personal philosophy of experiencing life to its fullest. She lived in North Carolina, Louisiana and Washington. Sarah enjoyed facing new challenges and overcoming obstacles. She was a certified nurses aide and enjoyed working with the elderly. Her laughter and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved her. "Enjoy your freedom roadrunner.?
