Sarah Louise Annis, 91, a resident of West Village Care Center, formerly of Troy Mills and Coggon, died Sunday, August 29, 2004, at Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Pastor Sherri and Pastor Leo Anderson. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at Troy Mills Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Joan (Norman) McGraw of Coggon, Harold (JoAnn) Annis of Troy Mills and Daryl (Karen) Annis of Troy Mills; two brothers, Cecil Price of Coggon and Harlan Price of Independence; a sister, Helen Smith of Barnum, Minnesota; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Harrison Price; a sister, Vera Price; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica.
Sarah was born July 10, 1913, the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Mote) Price, in rural Central City. On October 17, 1932, she married Ross William Annis in Galena, Illinois. He died in 1972. Sarah ran a café in Troy Mills and was a cook at the Troy Mills School.
