Sara Lynn Palumbo, 26, of 2628 1st Street SW, died Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004, at St. Ludmila?s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Tom McDermott. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Friday) at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a vigil service will begin at 6:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Austen Michael and Europe Olivia, both at home; her parents, Michael and Jennie Palumbo of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Michael Palumbo, Jr. of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Tammy (Robb) Schurbon and Laura Palumbo, all of Cedar Rapids; and a niece, Brianna. Also surviving are many aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and a niece, Savannah Kay.
Sara was born April 26, 1977, the daughter of Michael and Jennie Rus Palumbo in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A graduate of Capri, she owned and operated Capelli Salon and was currently a student at Kirkwood Community College. Sara will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
