Sandra Wyatt, 70, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at her home in Marion. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Marion American Legion Post #298.
Sandra was born on October 14, 1950, in Postville, Iowa, the daughter of James Joseph and Bernadette Theresa (Steffes) Yirkovsky. Sandra was a hard working woman who worked at Menards for 33 years, where she worked in accounts payable. She also ran Alley-Oops and Doc Holidays with along with the long-time love of her life Ted Shears until her retirement.
Sandra is survived and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Amy Wyatt of Alburnett and Angela (Bill Holub) Wyatt of Anamosa; four grandchildren, Ashley (Miles) of Blairstown, Brandon of Marion, Gabrielle (Mike) of Manchester, Iowa, Kristina of Marion; great-grandchildren, Miles, Jr., Maverick, Preslee, Jace, Kinley, Lenyx, Evelyn, Bentley, Lain, Hunter, Gunner, Fisher, and one on the way; five siblings, Sharon, Roger (Tammy), Jeff, Bill (Lisa) all of Marion, and Joe (Connie) of Schleswig, Iowa; sister-in-law, Linda Yirkovsky; brother-in-law, Lyle Himes; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bernadette Yirkovsky; siblings, Donnie and Bonnie; and many aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mercy Hospice, especially to Jan, Brenda, and Pat, for the loving care given to Sandra.
