Sandra "Sam" Kay Van Lancker

Sandra “Sam” Kay Van Lancker, 68, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died Friday, August 22, 2014, at her home. A memorial visitation will be at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Friday, August 29, 2014, from 2:30-5:30 p.m., with fellowship at the VFW Post #788 to follow.
Survivors include her husband, Larry of Cedar Rapids; step-children, Eric (Tanya) Van Lancker of Clinton, Iowa, and Tina Van Lancker of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Jackson; twin granddaughters, Olivia and Carol; special friend, LaVonne “Trix” Chamnes of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Judy, Muriel and her twin sister, Linda.
Sam was born on June 13, 1946, in Ames, Iowa, daughter of Wallace and Ione (Godfrey) Gray. She graduated from Linn Mar High School and graduated from Kirkwood Community College at age 50. Sam had worked as an Administrative Assistant. On July 24, 1979, she married Larry Charles Van Lancker in Carson City, Nevada.
