Sandra Lee Simoens (Ferguson)

Sandra Lee Simoens, 57, of Springville, died Thursday, December 20, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, following a lingering illness. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Del Bear. The family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Larry of Springville; her son, Larry Simoens, Jr. of Hiawatha; three daughters, Andrea (Jason) Hansen of Cedar Rapids, Susan (Phil Neal) Thornburg of Massachusetts and Jessica Thornburg of Massachusetts; and her mother-in-law, Geneva Simoens of North English.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sandy was born December 11, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri and was adopted by Gerald and Marguerite (Callison) Ferguson. On October 28, 1983, she married Larry J. Simoens, Sr. in Cedar Rapids. Sandy loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Sandy’s memory.
