Sandra “Sandy” Kay Roseberry, 54, of Fairfax, Iowa, went Home to be with The Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2014, after a very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A Victory Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 10:30 am at Maranatha Bible Church, 526 3rd Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa,conducted by Pastor Aaron Telecky. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Maranatha Bible Church. Burial: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12 at the Center Point Cemetery. Sandy was born on August 24, 1959, in Cedar Rapids to Alvin and Bernice Brunscheen. She grew up in and near Mechanicsville, graduating from Lincoln High School, Stanwood in 1976. She married David Roseberry on November 22, 1991, in Center Point, Iowa; they later lived in Alburnett, Iowa; Roscoe, Illinois; Uvalde, Texas; and Fairfax, Iowa. Sandy loved The Lord, her family, and her friends with all her heart. She loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking, and enjoying summers at their cabin along the Mississippi in Guttenberg. Sandy was very caring and loving - organizing the Center Point Little League Program and Easter baskets for foster children in Linn County, cooking meals for Rock House Kids in Rockford, Illinois, teaching Sunday School, and volunteering at the Uvalde, Texas Humane Society and many schools. Hardworking, Sandy provided daycare and cleaned houses to stay home with her children. She also worked for Ament Engineering, Quaker Oats, and Linn County. She was blessed to enjoy being a part of the Maranatha Bible Church family.
She departed from her loving family to join our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus leaving behind her husband, David; mother, Bernice Brunscheen of Mechanicsville; children, Joshua (JoAnn) Barker of Hartford, Illinois; Dawn (Todd) Pershy of Walker, Lindsay Barker of Cedar Rapids, and at home, Kyle and Blake Roseberry and daughter/granddaughter, Makena Mally; stepsons, Josh (Missy) Roseberry of Atkins, Roger Roseberry of Vinton, and Micky Roseberry of Center Point; grandchildren, Samantha Lain, Shelby and Madyson Pershy, Mason Barker, Madelyn and Morgan Mally, Ada Carter, and Easton Roseberry; siblings, Bill (Cheryl) Brunscheen of Solon, Cheryl (Larry) Herren of Polk City, Bob (Sandi) Brunscheen of Clarence, Connie (Jon) Buss of Boone, and Scott (Karen) Brunscheen of West Des Moines, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces-and-nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Brunscheen; grandparents, Henry and Martha Brunscheen and William and Minnie Schrader.
