Sandra “Sandy” Kuhl, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away surrounded by her family Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Memories will be shared from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in the main chapel at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids with a Celebration of Life Gathering to follow from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. in The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, Cedar Rapids.
Sandy was born November 11, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William McCauley and Agnes Fritz. On October 16, 1982, Sandy was united in marriage to William Paul Kuhl at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked for nearly two decades at Von Maur and enjoyed seasonal work in retirement for the City of Cedar Rapids Greenhouse and Parks Department. Sandy was a “Winter Texan” who loved traveling and camping with family and friends. Other joys included going to the casino, shopping and spending free time with her loving family. She was a hard worker who devoted herself to her family.
Survivors include her children, Tina (Tony) Beranek, Corey (Heather) Dudley and Zach Kuhl; stepdaughter, Sarah (Mike) Ohrtman; grandchildren, Miranda (Jared) Capouch, Emily Beranek, Zoie, Aiden, and Dax Ohrtman, Caine (Sondra) Dudley, Elias Dudley, Ira Moretz-Egan, and Lucy and Millie Kuhl; great-grandchildren, Magnolia Capouch and Cambri Dudley; and sister, Norma (William) Sharp.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Kuhl; parents, Agnes and Clyde Traw, and William McCauley; siblings, Ralph Swallom, Allen See, Joyce Gambler, and William F. McCauley.
