Sandra Phelps, 78, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, November 16, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Sandra was born March 6, 1945, in Quanah, Texas, the daughter of Clifford and Anna (Huffman) Kelley. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids. Sandra was united in marriage to Lloyd H. Phelps, Jr. on August 17, 1963, in Cedar Rapids. She worked 13 years as a bus driver and trainer for the Cedar Rapids School District and owned Sandy’s Country Workshop for over 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, reading, and watching movies. Sandra enjoyed camping with her family at the state fair every year. She also liked to travel in the car with her husband and sister to see new places.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy (Kelly) Johnson, Cindy (Doug) Werning, Christy (Randy) Fox, and Teresa (Mike) Werning; grandchildren, April (Brian) Tusing, Angela Burian, Chaz (Samantha) Gerace, Jeffery Werning, Matthew (Jess) Werning, Jessica Werning, Trisha (Tim) Kalb, Tiffany (Brandi) McNulty, Chessa (Chance) Brennecke, Kayla Brown, and Joshua Werning; great-grandchildren, Autumn Burian, Braxton Gerace, Gunner Gerace, Tanner Werning, Thomas Werning, Eleanor Werning, Loralie Werning, Jonah Kalb, Isaac Kalb, Sadie Kalb, and Elijah McNulty; and siblings, Cliff (Burd) Kelley, and Pat Glenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Lloyd H. Phelps, Jr.
