Sandra M. (Marta) Beltz
September 18, 1942 — July 29, 2005
Sandra M. (Marta) Beltz, of 5931 Shiloh Lane, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday evening, July 29, 2005, at U of I Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, after a courageous 2? year battle with melanoma cancer. There will be no visitation or funeral per her request. A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Sandy is survived by her loving partner, best friend and husband, LaVern; two sons, Terrence (Terry) Holub of Chicago and Douglas Holub residing at home; two daughters, Marta Holub of Robins, Iowa, and Cheryl (Bret) Lehr of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and the following grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Holub, Garrett, Tanner and Austin Lehr, and Austin Moore, a special grandchild she was not able to meet. She is also survived by a sister and her beloved dog, Molly.
Sandy was born in Lead, South Dakota, September 18, 1942, to LeRoy and Venitta Marta. She was preceded in death by her parents. She married LaVern W. Beltz on December 30, 1987, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sandy was a housewife all of her life and enjoyed being an avid fan of all of her children and grandchildren?s activities, especially sporting events. She loved the outdoors, camping with the grandkids, gardening and had a great love of animals. Sandy and her family would like to give special thanks to the Rockwell Recreation Center Hoopsters teammates and friends for all their thoughts and prayers.
Sandy will rest in peace with her husband Vern upon his passing at the Little Dane Church Cemetery in St. Onge, South Dakota. Sandy was a joy to her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
