Samuel Willet Comley Trexler III, 67, of 915 8th Avenue S.W., died suddenly in his home on Sunday, October 9, 2005. Services:10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery with military honors.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene; their children, Lonnie (Dale) Viner of Urbana, Vickie (Tim) Noska of Coggon, Terrie (John) Trachta of Troy Mills, Donald (Tina) Schminkey of Shellsburg.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister Gabriel (Robert) Shiested of Omaha, Nebraska; and a brother Gene of California. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Leona; a nephew, Roger; and a niece, Sheryl.

Samuel was born in Cedar Rapids on February 17, 1938, the son of Samuel Willet Comley Trexler Jr. and Mildred (Wood). He was united in marriage on August 5, 1961, in Rock Island, Illinois to Charlene Grace Bremer. He served in the US Army. A lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, he was employed as a welder at P&H where he retired after 35 years.

Samuel was a member of the Otter Creek Gun Club and the Isaac Walton League.

Military honors by American Legion Hanford Post # 5.
