Samantha B. Hobson, 19, of 1620 J. Street SW, died Friday, August 29, 2003, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, of natural causes. Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2003. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her parents, Rick and Patricia Hobson of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Sarah; a brother, Anthony; a special nephew, Clayton; her grandparents, Kathleen Hobson, Patricia Dabler, and Roger and Shirley Dabler, all of Cedar Rapids; her boyfriend, Eric Miller; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Thomas Hobson; an uncle, James Hobson; and a great-grandfather, Stacey Dabler.
Samantha was born December 10, 1983, the daughter of George "Rick? and Patricia Dabler Hobson, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A 2002 graduate of Jefferson High School, she was a nursing student at Kirkwood Community College and employed by Hawkeye Convenience Store. Samantha enjoyed the company of her two cats, Jose and Sandy and spending time with her nephew. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Samantha.
