Sally Sherman, 65, of Walker, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2008, at the funeral home. Private family inurnment at a later date.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; her children, Randy (Cindy) Sherman, Rhonda (Brett) Freeman and Robyn (John Moes) Sherman; grandchildren, Heidi (Derek) Oltmann, Ty Sherman, Shawna (Chad) Meyer, Lindsey Freeman, Aaron (Ella) Sherman, Cody Sackett, Chase Sackett and Marissa Moes; great grandchildren, Haley Meyer, Charli Ann Sherman, Jake Sherman and Lincoln Oltmann; mother-in-law, Mary Sherman; sisters-in-law, Judy (Gerald) Wall, Shirley (Charles) Hollan and Carol Peyton; brother-in-law, Tom (Lorreta) Sherman; and numerous other relatives.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Howard; father-in-law, Ray Sherman; and sister-in-law, Kathryn Sherman.
Sally was born on May 13, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Ted and Opal (Betzer) Peyton. In 1961, she graduated from Troy Mills High School. On October 21, 1961, she was united in marriage to Charles Sherman in Troy Mills.
