Ruth A. Pecinovsky, 87, of Walker, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Sacred Heart Parish Center, Walker, where a Scripture service will begin at 7:30 p.m.. Burial: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Lourdes, Iowa. Arrangements with Murdoch Funeral Home, Walker.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Kenny) Popelar, Walker, Robert (Marjorie) Pecinovsky, Rowley, Michael Pecinovsky, Walker, Mary (Bob) Wigfall, San Diego, California, Dean Pecinovsky, Walker, Debra Lindsey, Robins, Barbara (Marc) Clark, Shellsburg and John (Jeannie) Pecinovsky, Cedar Rapids; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Vincentia Chihak, Elma, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Pecinovsky and Bess Cornwell; and a brother-in-law, Ray Auen..
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin; grandson, Joshua Pecinovsky; four brothers, Frank, Stan, Vincent and Joseph; and three sisters, Sr. Stanislaus OSF, Rose and Margaret “Peg”.
Ruth was born September 22, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Amanda (Peterson) Goetz, on the family farm near Lourdes, Iowa. On November 12, 1945, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Pecinovsky in Fresno, California. He died August 26, 1993. Ruth was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ladies Guild and Legion Auxiliary in Walker.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Ruth.
