Ruth Georgia Fleming Clark, 88, died Wednesday, January 1, 2003, at Crestview Acres Care Center in Marion following a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Dr. Robert Kunz. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her sons, Stan of Marion and Jim and wife Cindy of Marion; her sister, Dollie Fleming Garrison of Marion; six grandchildren, Nick, Josh, Jamie, Jessi, Ryan and Kyle, all of Marion; and one great-granddaughter, Skylyn.
Ruth was born February 6, 1914, in Starbuck, Minnesota, the daughter of Raymond and Clarissa (Kemp) Fleming. After graduating from high school in Cheney, Kansas, she attended Iowa State Teachers College, getting her Elementary Education Degree in 1944. She also attended Coe College and received her BA in 1965. She married Donald Dale Clark on August 12, 1946, in Cedar Rapids. Don died August 6, 1980.
Ruth was a longtime member of the Marion Christian Church.
