Ruth F. Fleming, 78, of 1140 Elim Drive, Marion, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at St. Luke?s Hospital, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Squaw Creek Baptist Church in Marion by Rev. Michael Kleeberger. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Leland; her son, Roger Fleming and wife Jackie Kessenich of Walford; two daughters, Dawn Carter and husband Larre of Toddville and Cheri Leaman of Florida; her brother, Harold Crutchley and wife Anita of Marion; her sister, Irene Crutchley of Iowa City; seven grandchildren, Hollie Scott and husband Robert, Dawn A. Leaman, Chad Fleming and wife Barb, Erin Carter, Chad Carter, Tiernan Fleming and Cassidy Fleming.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Helen and Elsie.

Ruth was born May 31, 1924, the daughter of Daniel Clayton and Alice Pearl (Kessler) Crutchley in North Liberty. On March 20, 1948, she married Leland Clark Fleming. Ruth worked at Collins Radio for 19 years. She was a member of Squaw Creek Baptist Church since 1982. Ruth enjoyed cooking, sewing and needlework.
