Ruth Annis Inlow, 99 1/2, of Anamosa, formerly of Coggon, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at the Anamosa Care Center. The family will greet friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Marion. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Elsie Henderson, Arleta (Everett) Moulden, and JuaNita Borchardt; 15 grandchildren, Mark (Carol), Diane, Steve, Marty (Patty), Kevin (Debbie), Jamie (Patty), Lisa, Tina (Barry), Kent (Paula), Robin (Kelly), Doug (Diane), Valerie (Dave), Cindy (Randy), Tracey (Todd), and Rachel (Sarah); 33 great-grandchildren; 44 great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Tim, Homer, and Bonnie; and many many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Horace Annis and Ray Inlow; son, Ronald Annis; granddaughter, Teresa; great-grandson, Jarad; and siblings, Bea Reed, Katherine Galloway, Jane Sankey, and Willie Elloitt.
Ruth was born February 17, 1918, in Missouri, the daughter of Walter and Bessie (Beauchamp) Elliott. On April 2, 1935, she was united in marriage to Horace Annis where they resided in rural Linn County. He passed away on July 13, 1983. Ruth later moved to Bowling Green, Missouri, where she married Ray Inlow, who also passed away. She worked as a waitress at Barkers Café in Coggon. Ruth was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion. She was a farmer’s wife and loved to bake, embroider and sew.
