Russell F. Sieck

Russell F. Sieck, 78, of Toddville, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, September 6, 2009. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, by Rev. Del Bear. The family will greet friends and family 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at the funeral home in Marion. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, ArloAnn; children, Connie (Dick) Emery of Center Point, Richard (Mary) Sieck of Toddville, Robert (Barbara) Sieck of Center Point, Arlyn (Evalina) Sieck of Center Point, Brenda (Ted) Lampe of Glendale, AZ, and Terri (Jeff) Gilliland of Sioux Falls, SD; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters, Helen Schmidt and Esther Hillyer, both of Bennett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Gary, Jeffrey, and Deborah Jo; and three sisters, Augusta Behrens, Viola Behrens, and Florence Hillyer.
Russell was born January 19, 1931, in Lowden, to Ferdinand and Louisa (Lunow) Sieck. He married ArloAnn B. Gronewold on August 9, 1950, in Clarence. Russell was a lifelong farmer in and around the Toddville/Center Point area. He was employed by Wilson’s for 17 years.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Russell’s memory.
