Russell D. Lockhart, 40, of 100 Clover Drive S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Joe Pledge. Visitation hours are from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his mother, Odessa Lockhart; wife, Lisa; children, Jordyne Lockhart, Olivia Bezoni, Alissia Lockhart, Katrell Lockhart and Jaden Lockhart; siblings, Kelvin Lockhart, Sr., Derrick Lockhart, Tel-Kynia Lockhart and Daryl Rhone.
Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Rivers.
Russell was born January 19, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan. On April 15, 2000, he was united in marriage to Lisa Krambeck in Cedar Rapids. Russell was a machinist for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works.
Russell loved his children, wife, mom and family. He was a sports fanatic who also enjoyed fishing and collecting baseball cards.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Russell’s memory.
