Ruby Laverna Andrews

Ruby Laverna Andrews, 85, of Ankeny, formerly of Marion, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, in Sunnyview Care Center, Ankeny, from complications of diabetes. Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, by the Rev. Gary Sneller. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Allen F. "Red? of Ankeny; a daughter, Shirley Jean Sparks (David) of Ankeny; a brother, Don (Mariann) Hepker of Ryan; and two sisters, Byrdena (Bob)Ulrich of Lisbon and Leota Anderson (John) of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, Dougles (Mary) Sparks and Jennifer (Grant) Jimmerson; and four great-grandchildren, Meagan and Amanda Sparks and Cody and Kaitlyn Jimmerson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and two brothers.
Ruby was born on January 16, 1920, in Toddville, to Walter and Olive (Oliphant) Hepker. On March 23, 1940, in Vinton, she was united in marriage to Allen "Red? Andrews. Ruby was a homemaker and member of Ankeny Christian Church.
