Roy A. Roseberry, 73, of 415 Teakwood Lane NE, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, November 28, 2002, in his home after a long illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2002, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. William Harnish. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 - 7 p.m. Sunday. Private family burial services will be held at a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; his children, Vicki Hardiman (Fred) of Cedar Rapids; Kenneth Roseberry (Sue) of George, Iowa, and Suzanne Holub (Lary) of Center Point; two brothers, Robert Roseberry of Chicago, Illinois, and Bert Roseberry of Center Point; and two sisters, Evadene Keith of Warwick, Massachusetts, and Claribel Cress of Onslow, Iowa.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Deb, Angie and Aaron Roseberry, Brad (Becky) and Brian Holub, Laura (Cory) Popelka and Lisa (Chad) Washburn; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Paul, Max, Mark and Dallas Roseberry; and a sister, Violet Elgin.

Roy was born the son of Austin Roseberry and Susie Bumgardner Roseberry on September 29, 1929, in Center Point. On April 7, 1948, Roy and Mary Floyd were united in marriage in Vinton. Roy was a U.S. Navy veteran. He farmed and was a Linn County Deputy Sheriff for 24 ? years. Roy loved to bowl, was an avid golfer and loved to watch his children and grandchildren play their sports.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Roy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

A dinner will follow the funeral service Monday at St. Andrews Golf Course.
