Roy Edward Malatek
October 13, 1913 — April 2, 2008
Roy E. Malatek, 94, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. His body has been deeded to the Body Program at the University of Iowa, College of Medicine. A private burial will be at a later date.
Survivors include his sister, Alice Goodwin.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Clara (Svoboda) Malatek; two sisters, Gladys Mayrose and Bernice Grimm; two brothers, Marvin Malatek and Francis Malatek (lived one day); numerous nieces and nephews; and his friend, Lillian Lovar.
Roy was born October 13, 1913, in Horse Shoe Bend in a settlement near Ely, Iowa.
