Roy E. Hall, 78, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, October 3, 2009, in Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 4 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Jim Goodrich with military honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Florence Constable; his children, Dwayne (Catherine) Hall and Kris Klimek; grandchildren, Jason Hall, Douglas Hall and Karen Hall-Chlebicki; and great grandchildren, Scott, Amber, Kaylee and Connor
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; five sisters; and four brothers.
Roy was born January 8, 1931, in Wellsboro, Indiana, the son of George and Gertrude (Miller) Hall. He married Carol Hensley. She died in 1981. Roy served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Harnesfenger.
Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church of the Brethren for 15 years and was a past member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was also a member of Machinist Local #831, the American Legion Post 298, the Elks Club and VFW.
