Roy A. Clark, 83, of 1030 Tiara Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Peosta, Iowa, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha following a short illness. There will be no public visitation. Graveside services and burial: Monday, June 30, 2008 at Crown Hill Memorial Cemetery, Twinsburg, Ohio. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his son, Chris (Sue) Clark of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Adam, both of Des Moines and Peter of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Jeanne Froelich of Syracuse, New York; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 52 years, Louise.
Roy was born August 18, 1924, the son of Edgar and Mae (Henderson) Clark, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. A graduate from Ohio State University, he served with the United States Army Air Corp. On August 30, 1949, Roy married Louise Winder. She died in 2002. For 12 years, he owned and operated Crestwoods Village Shop in Roanoke, Indiana. Roy enjoyed woodworking and spending his winters in Apache Junction, Arizona.
