Rosemary Bernadine Rott, 85, of Marion, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha, Iowa. There was a celebration of life held at New Covenant Bible Church on Saturday, November 16—a celebration for both Rosemary and her husband Marlin, who passed away on November 1, 2024.

Rosemary was born June 27, 1939, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Beulah (McWhorter) Nacke. Rosemary grew up on a farm in Illinois, one of eight siblings. After graduating from high school, she worked for Admiral Corporation where she met the love of her life, Marlin Rott. They were united in marriage on February 27, 1960. They had five children—four daughters and one son. Rosemary was a fantastic homemaker and an accomplished secretary.

Rosemary’s greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had the gift of making everyone she met feel seen and heard. She never knew a stranger. She was not deterred by hard work and was often found painting, wallpapering, cleaning, organizing, garage-saleing, renovating, decorating, crafting, and baking (usually with children or grandchildren in tow).

Rosemary is survived and lovingly remembered by her five children: Michelle (Rick) Hunt of Dubuque, Iowa, Pam (Mike) Lyons of Troy, Ohio, Christine (Ed) Luebe of Marion, Michael (Lori) Rott of Marion, and Kim (Jon) Lubke of Ridgeway, Iowa; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Ginger) Nacke, Larry (Karen) Nacke, and Rick Nacke; sister, Diana Bamper; brother-in-law, Marvin Bigelow; and a host of extended family including nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Marlin; her parents; two brothers, Louis Nacke, Jr. and Don Nacke; and one sister, Shirley Bigelow.
