Roselyn Edith Fanton

Roselyn E. Fanton, 72, of 2606 Fruitland Blvd., Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, in her home, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Jeremy Hudson. The family will greet friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial: St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Newhall.
Survivors include her husband, Wallace; a sister, Karen Morgan of Sigourney, Iowa; and a brother, Dave Brown of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Matt Morgan, Earl Morgan, Doug Morgan, Scott Brown, Paige Brown and Deb Peska; and her best friend, Pat Albin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Russell Brehm.
Roselyn was born April 24, 1936, the daughter of Vernon and Ruth (Hansen) Brown, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On March 9, 1991, she married Wallace Fanton in Cedar Rapids. For 35 years, Roselyn worked for the Square D. Company. She was a member of the Association for Research & Enlightenment.
Roselyn loved her house and enjoyed keeping it sparkling clean. An avid reader, she also loved her music, especially country western and the 50’s & 60’s music. Roselyn gave her love to everyone and everything. She loved life and didn’t hesitate to express it. Her beautiful smile will always remain in our hearts.
