Rosalie P. Blin, 92, a resident of Winslow House Care Center, Marion, formerly of Central City and Cedar Rapids, died Monday, August 8, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 - 7 p.m. today (Wednesday.) Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Ken (Nancy) Blin of Marion and Keith (Jackie) Blin of Coggon; a sister, Alida Grishaber of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Grishaber of Marion; four grandchildren, Rick (Janlyn) Blin of Virginia, Gary (Dani) Blin of Marion, Deidra Blin of West Des Moines and Derek Blin of Cedar Rapids.; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wes; three brothers; and two sisters.
Rosalie was born the daughter of Eugene and Mary (Bloom) Grishaber on March 2, 1913, near Alburnett. She graduated from Alburnett High School in 1930. On August 23, 1933, Rosalie and Wes Blin were united in marriage in Cedar Rapids. He died October 3, 2000. The couple farmed near Alburnett for twenty-six years, then moved to Central City, where they lived for thirty-six years. In 1995, Wes and Rosalie moved to Cedar Rapids. She was a homemaker and had a large vegetable and flower garden.
Rosalie was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will surely be missed.
