Rosalee M. Carlin, 75, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away, Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Northbrook Manor Care, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation: 12 – 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Rosalee was born December 17, 1942, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Evelyn (Murphy) Wayson. She married Donald Carlin in Iowa City, Iowa, on March 29, 1968. Rosalee worked for Turner Microphone as a personnel manager and later as a clerk at the Center Point Corner Store. She was such a people person. She loved the simple pleasures of life. Rosalee enjoyed her time in her flower garden and socializing with family and friends on the deck. She made an art out of celebrating Christmas. She was an excellent cook and she was known for her fudge and beef stroganoff. During her quiet time, Rosalee liked to read and challenge herself on crossword puzzles. She had a gentle, nurturing spirit. She will be missed by those who loved her.
Rosalee is survived by her husband, Don Carlin of Center Point; children, Dawn Stanard of Cedar Rapids, Jim Stanard of Cedar Rapids, Kellie M. Carlin of Hudson, New Hampshire, Denise (Darren Megrew) Stanard of Marion, Iowa and Renee Stanard of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Matthew, Brandt, Christopher and Courtney; and siblings, Dennis Wayson and Sheila Wayson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Clayton; and brother, Kevin E. Wayson.
