Ronald L. Thomas, 74, a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, February 15, 2010. Services: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Jeremy Hudson. The family will greet friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a sister, Judith Koutny of Cedar Rapids; 2 nephews, Todd Koutny of Cedar Rapids and Lance (Maria) Koutny of Methuen, Massachusetts, and their children, Emma and Isabella; and a niece, Valerie Koutny of Parkview, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald was born May 7, 1935, the son of Theodore “Ted” and Laurine (Flitsch) Thomas, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ronald graduated from Ranken Technical Institute in St. Louis, Missouri, and was a member of Plumbers Local 125 in Cedar Rapids.
