Ronald Frank Stejskal, 70, of Anamosa, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at his home. Services: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Springville United Methodist Church, conducted by: Pastor John Keizer. Family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Burial: Springville Cemetery, Springville, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Stejskal of Anamosa; son, Nicholas (Lisa) Stejskal; granddaughters, Alexis, Elizabeth and Abigail; mother, Libbie Stejskal of Springville, Iowa; and siblings, Susan (Ken) Oler of Springville, Iowa, Steven (Sherri) Stejskal of Brooklyn, Iowa and Sandra Omar of Scottsdale, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank; and son Timothy.
Ronald was born on March 11, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Frank and Libbie (Titera) Stejskal. He received his degree in agriculture from Kirkwood and Iowa State University. Ronald served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war 1963-1967. On June 5, 1976 he married Carol Lee Churchill in Viola, Iowa. He was a lifetime farmer and carpenter and drove the school bus for Springville Community School district for 28 years. Ronald was a member of the Springville United Methodist Church, Brown Township Mutual, Springville Coop Elevator Board, Springville Coop Telephone Board and the church choir. He enjoyed fixing things, building model airplanes, his dog, Toby a constant companion and activities with his family. Ronald was very devoted to his family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses, doctors and entire staff at Iowa City VA Hospital and University of Iowa Hospital friends, neighbors and family that have supported and prayed for us through this difficult time.
