Ronald R. Leeper, Sr. 62, of 512 10th Avenue S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, November 4, 2007, in his home surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Gathering of family and friends, 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. His body has been cremated.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; son, Ronald (Debbie) Leeper, Jr. of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Laura (Scott) Hargens of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Cody and Austin Leeper and Blake and Sierra Hargens; sister, Cheryl (Israel) Trevizo of West Liberty; and brother, Jonts (Louise) Leeper, Jr. of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald was born November 17, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Jonts and Agnes (Pernicka) Leeper. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968. On May 20, 1967, he married Marilyn Thompson in Chaska, Minnesota. He was a truck driver for Abell-Howe Construction at ADM Corn Sweeteners, retiring in 2001. He was a laborer for Local #43 and a member of Teamsters Local #238.
Ronald enjoyed fishing, hunting and taking drives along the river.
