Ronald “Ron” Lee Jarmon, 78, of Springville, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Services: 2:00pm Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00 pm, prior to the service, Wednesday. A private family graveside service will be held at Springville Cemetery at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two sons, Scott (Lori) Jarmon of Coralville, and Tracy (Christine) Jarmon of Marion; 15 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Ardith Wilkie of Boise, ID, Vinita Justice of Susanbill, CA, Trudy (William) Claypool of Cedar Rapids, Bob (Sue) Roberts of Aften, IA, JoAnn Lake of Creston, IA, Molly Claypool of Tucson, AZ, and Ed (Delores) Roberts of Creston, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Glen “Ike” Roberts; a son Randall Shawn Jarmon; and a brother Harold Roberts.
Ron was born December 11, 1933 the son of Truman and Agnes (Russell) Jarmon in Colo, Iowa. He graduated from Creston High School in 1952. Following graduation he served in the US Navy from 1952-1955 during the Korean Conflict. On November 15, 1958 Ron was united in marriage to Nancy Lee Butler at the United Methodist Church in Springville.
Ron was the owner of R.J.’s Homebuilders, and built many homes in Linn and Johnson counties throughout his career. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
