Ronald Dean Dozier, 70, of 3845 Monarch Ave., Marion, Iowa, died, Friday, February 1, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from heart complications. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. Carol Sundberg. The family will greet friends from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Iowa. Military rites by Marion American Legion Post #298.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of Marion; his mother-in-law, Ruth Plowman of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Margaret Dozier of Boone; 3 nieces, Sharon (Jim) McDonald of Des Moines, Carrie (Mike) Kading of Boone, and Susan (Donovan) Olson of Boone; 4 nephews, Steve (Lyla) Dozier of Des Moines, Richard Dozier of San Fransisco, California, David (Roxanne) Dozier of Ogden, Iowa, and Jack Peetz of Woodstock, Illinois; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Eva Buckley and Thelma Peetz; 3 brothers, Leslie, Harold and Lloyd Dozier; and a nephew, Ron Peetz, Jr.
Ronald was born May 4, 1937, the son of Ira and Della (Curry) Dozier, in Jefferson, Iowa. He married Nancy Plowman on August 1, 1965 in Douds, Iowa. He served in the National Guard for 7 years. Ron was involved with industrial sales for most of his working life. He retired from Schimberg Company in 2001.
