Ronald Louis Balik

Ronald Louis Balik, 58, of Portland, Oregon, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died in Portland, Oregon. Memorial Mass: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center Chapel in Cedar Rapids by Father Mark Osterhaus. Arrangements are by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his mother, Ludmila Balik of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Mary (David) English of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Bob (Deborah) Balik of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Dan (Barbara) Balik of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and nieces and nephews, Joni, Chris, Brent, and Jill.
He was preceded in death by his father; an infant brother, Donald Louis; and a son, Nathaniel.
Ronald was born May 23, 1950, the son of Louis J. and Ludmila A. (Bisinger) Balik in Cedar Rapids. Ron graduated from Regis High School and later graduated from Coe College were he played basketball.
A memorial fund has been established in Ronald’s memory.
