Ronald D. Arnold, 67, of 77 Allview Drive S.W., died Tuesday morning, May 22, 2007, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today (Thursday) at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; his children, Joe Arnold, Bill Arnold, Julie Arnold and Brian Arnold, all of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters, Amber Arnold and Sumer (A.K.A. Squeek) Arnold; his mother, Neva Arnold of Bruce, Wisconsin; a sister, Louella Dennis of Alaska; and his mother-in-law, Nola Keegan of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Arnold; and a brother, Dick Arnold.
Born July 13, 1939, in Lady Smith, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Neva (Decota) Arnold, he married Janice Keegan on August 5, 1960, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. He served with the U.S. Army. Ronald was a welder, working twenty-one years for FMC, and then later for Cedar Rapids, Inc, now known as Terex, where he retired in 1996. He enjoyed woodworking, baking, making pies, playing cards and going gambling.
