Ronald "Bob? L. Aldrich, 89, of Coggon, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at his home, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, at United Parish in Coggon by Rev. Rose Blank. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Central City. Burial: Coggon Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Evelyn; his children, Ron Aldrich and wife Phyllis of Columbia, South Carolina, Paula Foye and husband Rich of Coggon and Maretta and fiancé Jerry Zumbrunnen of Cedar Rapids; his sister, Vivian Garner of Monticello; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Blanche Ammeter; an infant sister, Velma; and three brothers, Milton, Dean and Raymond.
Bob was born November 9, 1913, the son of Roy and Gladys (Hickman) Aldrich in Ryan. On February 8, 1939, he married Grace Evelyn Baldwin in Manchester.
Bob was a former member of the Coggon Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting, his farm and cattle buying. He also loved baseball, especially the Cubs and enjoyed watching spring training in Arizona for over 20 years.
