Roger Louis Heiserman, 75, of Manchester, Iowa, died March 12, 2010, at East Towne Care Center in Independence after a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am, on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Independence, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa, and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church in Independence. Burial will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ryan, Iowa.
Roger was born on August 12, 1934, in Manchester, the son of Carl P. & Tiena “E.J.” [Iben] Heiserman. After graduating from Manchester High School in 1952, he attended Wartburg College in Waverly. Upon the illness of his father, Roger returned to Manchester to help with the family business. On June 13, 1969, Roger was united in marriage to Marjorie Jean Hoth in Stockton, Illinois. Roger drove a tank wagon truck and later a milk truck before retiring in 1994.
Roger was a member of the First Baptist Church in Independence, Iowa. He was a former member of the Good Neighbor Home Board of Directors and the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department.
Roger is survived by his wife, Marjorie Heiserman of Manchester; his five children, Kristian Watkins of Cedar Rapids, Christine Cortez [special friend, Scott Joss] of Cedar Rapids, Carolyn [Michael] Wolter, Carl Heiserman both of Manchester, and Cathy [Carl] Wickman of Springville; and two grandchildren, Julia Wolter and Joel Wickman.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Carl P. & Tiena “E.J.” Heiserman.
