Roger George Hardy, 65, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died of natural causes in his home on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. A gathering for family and friends will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday August 25, 2014, at 7708 Winston Drive NE Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Hardy; daughter, Jamie Corlett; step-children, Mike Leuenberger, Brian Phillips, Vicki Boerema and Cindy O’Leary; and eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Margaret (Pauldy) Hardy.
Roger was born on August 23, 1948, in Schenectady, New York. He attended Judson High school in Arizona. Roger served in the United States Army until 1975. Roger was a welder and blacksmith and worked for Universal Engineering and Iowa Specialties. On November 24, 2005, he married Carol Soukup in Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed golf, bowling and going to Las Vegas.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the family.
