Roger L. Biley, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, July 12, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A memorial gathering will be held from 2 to 5 pm. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 50 years, Jannette; his children, Debbie (Charlie) Thorman of Watkins, Iowa, Sandy Fraizer, Theresa (Wayne) Andersen, both of Cedar Rapids, Mark (Elizabeth) Biley of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, Debbie (Rusty) Bowles of Hiawatha, Iowa, Randy (Chris Stewart) Biley of Seattle, Washington, and Rodney (Charity) Biley of Zion, Illinois; 12 grandchildren, Bruce, Deanna, Lisa, Jeremy, Robbie, Samantha, Thomas James, Sara, Troy, Taylor, Erin and Kara; six great-grandchildren, Will, Drew, Seth, Brittney, Sophie and Jaiden; sister, Shirley Stolba of Hiawatha; and brother, Larry Biley of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Karen Biley; and brother-in-law, Bill Stolba.
Roger was born October 17, 1935, the son of Louis and Viola (Hagge) Biley, in Toledo, Iowa. A graduate from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids, he served in the United States Air Force. On October 17, 1963, Roger was united in marriage to Jannette McCormick in Vinton, Iowa.
Roger was a truck driver for Linn Coop Oil Company and Farmland Industries. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and was a fan of NASCAR, especially, Dale Earnhardt.
