Robert Rudolf Wazac, 89, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at the care center. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. Phil Jorgensen. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial: Lost Nation Cemetery Lost Nation, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel; children, David (Ruth) Wazac, Mark (Debbie) Wazac, Dennis (Jo) Wazac, and Robin (Nathan) Borrett; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Carl Wazac Jr., and Tony Wazac.

Robert was born September 13, 1923, in Lost Nation, Iowa, the son of Carl Sr. and Nelli (Potter) Wazac. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII. Robert married Hazel E. Ruggeberg on December 26, 1943, in Seattle Washington. He was the Vice President of Allied Glass Products for 40 years. Robert enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and fishing. He was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, and also enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes.
