Robert Lewis Roan, Jr. 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon, Iowa. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Robin Roan of Cedar Rapids, Aric Roan of Quincy, Illinois, and Erin Clayton of Mesa, Arizona; two grandchildren, Melea Roan and Brandon Clayton; great-granddaughter, Aubree Roan; siblings, Charles Roan, Merle Roan and Carol Schmit; and his best friend, Vera Nielson of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Gutherie.
Robert was born May 6, 1937, the son of Robert and Katherine (Stewart) Roan, in Quincy, Illinois. He served in the United States Marine Corps and then worked at Firestone Tire. Robert enjoyed going to Tama to gamble, poetry, of which his has been published, music and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
