Robert H. Primrose, 61, of 535 W. 9th Ave., died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. William Primrose Jr. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Norwich Cemetery, rural Martelle.
Survivors include his companion of many years, Sharon Binner of Marion; a daughter, Lisa Lowe and husband Bob of Colorado Springs; his father, William Primrose and wife Julia of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Judith Sullivan and husband Ray of Robins and Marilyn Bickal and husband David of Palo; and a brother, Bill Primrose and wife Rosalie of Des Moines.
Also surviving are Sharon?s daughters, Lisa Barker and husband Cliff of Battle Creek, Michigan, Mary Beth Sexton and husband Dale of Fairfax and Amy Binner of Marion. Bob and Sharon?s grandchildren include Megan, Brandon, Ryan, Kristen, Jonathan, Teisha, Joshua, Johnathon, Candice, Abigail and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Bob was born October 6, 1943, the son of William and Irma (Kelso) Primrose in Vinton. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Bob owned and operated Bob?s Happy Hour in Cedar Rapids. He and Sharon then operated the Why Not Lounge and the Cabaret. Bob served as president of the Iowa Licensed Beverage Association during the 1991-1992 term. He was currently employed at Sam?s Club. Prim was a member of American Legion Post No. 298 of Marion who will provide military honors.
A memorial fund has been established in Bob?s memory.
