Robert E. Miller, 76, of 3522 12th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Center Point, died Thursday, February 2, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, by the Rev. Rick Gail. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen; two sons, David (Patricia) Miller of Shellsburg and Leo Miller of Cedar Rapids; four daughters, Elizabeth (Mike) Bauer of Garland, Texas, Teresa (Rick) Leuenberger of Cedar Rapids, Bridgette Usher of Cedar Rapids and Earleen (Cam) Kick of Walker; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Ardis Koeppen of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Jerry (Twyla) Miller of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Helen; and a sister, Carol.

Robert was born the son of Erwin A. and Tillie Ness Miller on March 20, 1929, in Atkins, Iowa, where he graduated from high school. On October 28, 1951, Robert and Maureen Power were united in marriage at St. Joseph Cathedral in San Diego, California. Robert entered the Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict on the USS Askari. He was employed for many years at Midland Forge, retiring in 1995.

Robert and Maureen lived on an acreage in Center Point for many years. He enjoyed his time in the country and raising cattle. Each year, Robert looked forward to and enjoyed visiting with the hunters on his land.

A great family man, he was a loving husband, father and doting grandfather. His family was the most important thing to him and he will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Robert.
