Robert was born August 6, 1929 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. His family moved to Cedar Rapids where he attended Cedar Rapids Schools, graduating from McKinley High School in 1947. He attended Coe College and graduated in 1951 with a degree in Business. He married the love of his life, Sherry Peyton on September 2, 1955. Bob worked for Rockwell International for over 30 years in various marketing and administrative functions, retiring in 1985.

He enjoyed a round of golf, and a game of bridge, his beloved Kohawks, and making furniture. He spent endless hours in his garage making beautiful, hand crafted furniture for his family. But music was his real passion and he expressed that through his many years of singing in his church choir and performing with the Cedar Rapids Concert Choral. No one will ever forget the sound of his beautiful voice.

Robert was a loving and faithful husband, adoring father and grandfather and a true and loyal friend. Though our hearts ache today, we are comforted to know he now sings with the angels. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer?s Association of East Central Iowa, 1570 42nd St. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52402.
