Robert D. Kummer
January 16, 1922 — April 13, 2015
Robert D. Kummer, 93, of Marion, died Monday, April 13, 2015, at home. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Steve Knudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include his children, David (Helen) Kummer of Los Angeles, California and Charlotte (Rex) Radermacher of Minnetonka, Minnesota; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchild; a brother, Wayne Kummer; and two sisters, Maxine (Bob) Foltz and Norma Jean Collett.
Robert was born January 16, 1922, the son of Samuel and Clarissa (Merritt) Kummer in Bluffton, Indiana. He graduated from Augusta College in Moline, Illinois. Robert served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. On August 4, 1943, he married Anita Kahler in Moline, Illinois. She died October 31, 2005.
