Robert James Hulshizer Sr.

Robert James Hulshizer Sr., 64, of Martelle, died Friday, December 12, 2003, in his home after an extended illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2003, at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church, Anamosa, by Pastor Jerry Egle. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Anamosa. Military rites will be conducted by Anamosa Veterans. Friends may call from 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 14) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Surviving are his wife, Pattianne; his children, Robin Hulshizer and husband Sean Nelson and their children, Hannah, Dale and Kate of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Kim Murdoch and husband John and her children, Brock, Cody and Jordan Bickford and stepchildren, Brett, Jaime and Hailey Murdoch of Marion, and Robert Hulshizer Jr. and wife Christy of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild, Dillon; three brothers, Arthur, Raymond and Frank; and a sister, Velma Fankhauser.
Bob was born the son of Arthur and Bozena "Bessie? Chadima Hulshizer on February 3, 1939, in Iowa City. He graduated in 1957 from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. On June 3, 1961, he was united in marriage to Pattianne Jones at St. James Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. Bob was an Airman Second Class in the U.S. Air Force, where he repaired F102 Delta Darts. For thirty-eight years, he was employed at Rockwell International Corporation, working in Facility and Maintenance Material Control, Avionics Group. He retired April 2, 1994. Bob was a member of St.Paul?s Lutheran Church in Anamosa.
Bob was always his kids and grandkids "greatest fan,? never missing a sporting or school event. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established in Bob?s memory.
